Suitable for

For anyone in good health able to walk 6/8 hours a day with developments of 15/20 km and differences in height accumulated in various ups and downs of +/- 1000 m. The itinerary develops mainly on comfortable white roads and wide mule tracks without ever tackling long or steep climbs.

Best time

From June to October.
In early June, it is still possible to find snow on the higher passes, so we recommend the use of light crampons and trekking poles.

Tour type

Itinerant trekking with overnight stays in alpine huts and local b&b, in self-guided option with maps and GPS waypoints or accompanied by a hiking guide. Return to the starting point by train. Luggage transport service available on request.

Hiking on the traces of an ancient traders route who transported salt from the coast to the hinterland.
Around 100km of trekking, from Colle di Tenda (1800m), crossing the mountains to enjoy the aesthetic satisfaction of reaching the Mediterranean waters.
The trek develops largely on the Italian-French border ridge, historically strategic places for the defense of the territory, evidenced by military roads, Alpine passes and fortifications dating from the end of the 1800s to the Second World War.
An itinerary mainly on comfortable white roads and wide mule tracks, with stunning views all around.
6-8 hours of walking per day, with luggage transport service included to make the trek on the planned stages more pleasant. On request it is possible to organize shuttle transfers to allow recovery days.
Overnight stays in cozy mountain huts and small local b&b, renowned for their typical cuisine and located in idyllic places to enjoy a well-deserved rest at the end of the trekking days.
